How betterSoil made an impact at IFAT 2026
Innovation thrives where technology meets real-world challenges, and the IFAT Worldwide 2026, in Munich from 4-7 May 2026, once again proved to be that meeting point. The event brought together cutting-edge innovations in water and wastewater management, recycling, circular economy, AI, biotechnology, and resource-efficient environmental technologies. IFAT Munich 2026 featured around 3400 exhibitors, including 50 startups, and attracted approximately 142,000 visitors around the world. Among the innovative startups at the event was betterSoil for a better world, proudly exhibiting as part of THE LÄND – Baden-Württemberg International. betterSoil’s participation was made possible through the sponsorship and support of THE LÄND, providing the company with a valuable platform to showcase themselves. Throughout the exhibition, betterSoil introduced its Satellite based Data Driven Farm Assistant Platform to visitors from around the globe, demonstrating how satellite technology, data analytics, and soil science can empower farmers to make better management decisions.
Presenting the future of soil intelligence
At IFAT, betterSoil showcased its mission of transforming complex environmental and agricultural data into practical insights for farmers. Farm Assistant app utilizes satellite imagery, agriculture data, and soil data to help the users:

One of the most exciting meetings took place with Kurt Grimm, a large-scale farmer from Kansas, USA. The conversation revolved around the potential use of satellite-based insights for soil improvement and farm management on large-scale agricultural enterprises. We hope that betterSoil will have an opportunity to further collaborate and test the platform under actual farming conditions.
The betterSoil team was delighted to meet Annette Zimmermann from Umwelttechnik BW, whose interest in innovative startups reinforced the importance of digital technologies in advancing sustainable agriculture.
A noteworthy meeting was also that with Melina Gerdts from bioCircular Loop, where we further discussed the importance of soil health for climate change mitigation, biodiversity preservation, and the circular economy. These discussions illustrated the subject’s importance. Earlier, we also had podcast with her.
Strengthening connections at the Bavarian State Reception
Beyond the exhibition floor, betterSoil was also invited to the State Reception of the Bavarian Government at the historic Munich Residenz, hosted in the magnificent Emperor’s Hall. The reception brought together innovators, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and industry leaders to foster collaboration and build meaningful partnerships for a more sustainable future. Organized with the support of IFAT Worldwide, THE LÄND, and Baden-Württemberg International, the event provided an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas, expand professional networks, and highlight the importance of soil health and sustainable agriculture in addressing global environmental challenges.
