Since our founding, we have received support from many sides. Through numerous events and conversations with experts, our network has grown. The combination of all these impulses from business, science, and politics has shaped our business model. Here we list some of the programs that have made us who we are.
ESA Business Incubation Center (ESA BIC BW)
With ESA BIC funding, betterSoil became a ‘space-climate-agritech’ start-up. Soil and space? They go together because we combine satellite data with agricultural knowledge to stabilise harvests, reduce costs and store CO2 in the soil. The soil becomes a buffer against extreme rainfall events and long dry spells, and helps to suppress diseases and pest infestations. betterSoil receives technical support as well as access to the ESA ecosystem and its (corporate) partners.
Google Startups for Sustainable Development
Since 2024, betterSoil has been part of the Google Startups for Sustainable Development (SFSD) programme. The programme supports an entire ecosystem of young companies that focus on impact – companies like betterSoil that want to make a difference. As part of the programme, betterSoil has access to advisors, financing and other benefits offered by the Google environment. betterSoil has completed an Impact Academy, where the activities of start-ups are measured in terms of their contribution to the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. As the programme is not time-limited, it aims to ensure the long-term success of the start-ups. We are doing our part and are proud to be part of this initiative!
